Don't answer me--I already know!

So last night I had this conversation (kind of) with my 12-year-old son:

(son at computer typing up homework assignment)

SON: Hey, how do you spell “Table of Contents?”

ME: T-A-B-L---

SON: MOM! I know!

ME: C-O-N-T

SON: MOM! I was the spelling bee champ!

ME: ..E-N-T----

SON: Stop spelling! I was the spelling bee champ! I know how to spell!!

ME: *scratches head* But you ASKED me…

SON: *looks at me with confused face* What?

ME: Hey, what time is it?

SON: It's...7:54pm

ME:
Sigh. Kids. What would we do without them? You know, besides having normal conversations.

What kind of scratch-your-head moments have you had lately?

I think your son channeled my son (16)...

Hahahahahahaha

Sounds exactly like my brother. He's 13 and a good 9 years younger than myself. You'd think he'd take advantage of the sister with the English degree.

This conversation sounds just like me and my thirteen year old son on the way to school everyday!

Funny.

My moments are usually when asking them questions while they watch tv--our children are not multi-taskers.

At least our kids give me plenty of blog post ideas.
