Artfully Departed

Last night my friend Shannon came over and bought one of my favorite art pieces. The exchange went something like this:

Me *sigh*

Her *yay*

It was hard to see it go (as is most of my pieces) but I'm super happy to know it's going to a great home!

You might remember The Corpse Bride from recently. Well, I was lucky enough to spot her last night and catch her on camera. It looks like she's still searching for her groom, her one true love, through the dangerous and forbidden territorties. My camera has super zoom so at times it looks like she spotted me but I was pretty well hidden and definitely in a safe spot. It's so sad, really. I hope Lillith can eventually find her groom and happiness one day.

Yay no black widows! You're the best home cookie ;)

I love the picture your friend chose, it's awesome!!! Totally worth the excitement on her face, and the sadness in yours.

I imagine watching it leave your house is really hard each time, much like a story you spent so much time with it, something so special can be hard to let go of, but GO YOU for doing so!

Thanks, Jen! Usually I sell at my art shows and it's so busy and chaotic I don't have much time to pay attention to what's leaving. This one piece I only brought to one show. It's spent most of the time in my living room hanging about our couch since it was my hubby's favorite too. But I have to remind myself, I make art not to hang on my walls, but to make others happy :)

I"m sorry for the loss of your art. But at least it's going to a good home, like you said.

Those pictures are so cute! And I would have chose that one, too! Did she give you the url to her bow site? http://www.foxdenproductions.com/index.php

Sorry you had to let it go. Good think I have no talent the house would overflow. It would be like sending a child into the world.
Really like those Bride pics though!
