Up Close & Personal

I've been going through a tough time recently. One of the most trying times I've faced. Instead of knowing exactly where I'm headed and what I can rely on,  I'm totally uncertain. I'm hanging tight, trying to hold on, without a security net below. Not having that security took away a lot of my motivation for, well, most everything.

The straight path I was on now curves just enough so I can't see what's ahead. That, for me, is the most frightening thing. It took awhile to get the "what if's" out of my head, knowing I can't control every situation so it does little to worry and stress over it. It's taking away time from everything that matters most, namely my family.

My husband is the best, supportive hubby in the world. He kicked me out of the house to write. After me whining about how I didn't want to leave the house, he told me to stop moping and kick some writing butt. Afterall, i'm on a deadline and really need to finish up soon.

So I did, and that was the start of me feeling like i'm returning to my normal self, excited about writing, excited about small things that didn't seem to matter before. I have to keep in mind everything happens for a reason and even though I may never know what the reason is, I must have faith and believe it will all work out in the end.

Oh, and chocolate definitely helps too!

What helps you deal with difficult situations?

I'm sorry you're going through a tough time, but I'm glad to hear your husband is providing needed support.

When I'm down, writing is the first thing to go. But when I figure out to reach out to other bloggers and to write, I'm able to climb out of the depression.

I hope everything works out the way you need it to soon.

Sorry:(

During difficult times, I tend to shy away from everything except my family. They are what get me through.

I'm sorry! From my bit older branch on the tree, please know that all of us, at one time or another, go thru periods when we have to regain our center. It's fantastic your husband is so supportive. Good luck!

When stuff snowballs on me, I stop thinking and keep busy with physical activities.

I'm sorry to hear what you're going through, Rose. I'm glad you've got your family and your husband to help you and support you. With a strong support network like family and friends, hard situations don't become easier but it helps us cope and hold on and believe that at the end of it all, everything will be alright again. I hope all goes well for you.

That is so cool your hubs is not only supportive but on the offense for you. Sometimes it's through these 'dry/uncertain' times that we grow the most so we can bring to the table what's required of us. :) (PS: I finally ordered Gossip...and Barnes and Noble sent me a message saying it wasn't available until 2035. I'm not joking. Yeah, they were trying to upload it on my Nook. I went back and ordered the physical book. lol Can't wait to receive it.)

I can't believe I'm so late in getting around to reading this, but I'm really glad to hear that it seems to be turning around for you.

When I'm down I usually sleep too much.
